Amazing Outpouring Of Support

Dear Editor,

On December 19, 2010 my family lost our home to fire. We have seen an amazing amount of community support from the very minute we found out our home was burning. After I arrived at the house, friends, family and even strangers were there to find out what they could do to help. It is very difficult to put into words how we have been feeling these past few weeks. Saying “Thank you” does not feel like enough. We have always tried in the past to be there for others and help in our community, but now it seems like we couldn’t possibly do enough to thank everyone for what they have done for us. We sincerely appreciate every hug, helping hand and donation (in all forms) that have been given.

My friends and I joke on Facebook that we have these invisible “Super Woman” capes that help us get through our sometimes overwhelming schedules. I felt like mine burned up with the house. But gradually, because of my wonderful friends, family and community, I am feeling more like it was just charred and it is getting better everyday. I am thankful every day for our choice to come back to Owen County. There is no place I would rather be.
