February 3

The Endwright Center wil host Yoga for Seniors taught by David LeBeau every Thursday in February at 10 a.m. A $5 fee is charged for the class. For more information, call Sharol at 876-3383, ext. 515.

Spencer Masonic Lodge will have its monthly Craft Club meeting on Thursday, February 3 at 7 p.m. The focus of this meeting will be the Fellow Craft degree. All Fellow Craft Masons are invited to attend.

February 5

Spencer VFW Ladies Auxiliary will hold a benefit for women’s heart health on Saturday, February 5 from 6-8 p.m. They will be serving a smoked pork chop dinner for $8.00 and will hold karaoke from 8-? Proceeds go towards women’s heart health funds.

THE OWEN COUNTY CHRISTIAN MEN’S FELLOWSHIP will hold its monthly breakfast meeting on Saturday, February 5 beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the Freedom Methodist Church, weather permitting. All Christian men are invited to attend. A freewill offering will be taken to help support the Weekday Religious Education program in Owen County, which is sponsored and supported by the OCCMF.”

Sons of the Spencer American Legion wil be serving cheseburgers on Saturday, February 5 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post on S. Main Street. Cost is $4. Take-out or dine-in. All proceeds go to the Joe Carmichael Scholarship Fund.

February 7

The Owen County Art Guild will hold it’s first meeting of the year Monday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. There will be refreshments and plenty to see including their newest ‘critter’ a six foot long dragon. This meeting is open to the public and everyone is welcome to see the new face of the guild and gift shop. If school are canceled, the meeting will be canceled.

February 8

The Gosport Lazy Days Comite will meet Tuesday, February 8 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Gosport Community Building. For more information, contact Machele Arnold via email at: myboyboo14@yahoo.com. Monthly meetings of the committee are open to the public.

The Spencer American Legion and Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. at the Post.

February 9, 16

A jewelry making workshop, taught by Patti Brundle, will meet at the Endwright Center February 9 and 16 at 1 p.m. Design your own bracelets, necklaces and earrings using beads of many colors. Supplies will be provided but bring small jewelry pliers if you have them. For more information, call Sharol at 876-3383 ext. 515.

February 9

The Joly Homemakers Club will meet February 9, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Peggy Bull. This will be a Valentine’s party, so please bring a Valentine’s gift for your secret pal.

February 10

Spencer Masonic Lodge will hold its stated meeting on Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. Stated meetings are held the second Thursday of each month and all Master Masons are invited to attend. Spencer Lodge # 95 is located at 361 N. Harrison Street. Refreshments will follow.

February 11

The Spencer Lions Club is having a spagheti diner on February 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the Lester F. Litten Community Center at 59 N. Main Street. Parking is available in the old IGA parking lot. The dinner will consist of spaghetti, bread, salad, dessert and a drink for $6 at the door or a ticket may be purchased in advance for $5 from Rusty Freeman at 812-327-0142 or Mike Harvey at 829-9354.

THE MILLGROVE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will host a free Valentine’s dinner/ movie night on Saturday, February 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m. RSVP by February 6 by calling 812-879-4163, or 812-821-2681.

February 15 INDIANA SOCIETY SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION DANIEL GUTHRIE CHAPTER will hold a quarterly meeting on Tuesday, February 15. Buffet meal begins at 6:00 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Creative Corners Buffet in Bedford. Awards will be presented for Law Enforcement, Fire Safety and Emergency Medical

Services, in addition to the William Knight Essay and Eagle Scout Scholarship monies, and the Medal for Heroism. Everyone is welcome to attend.

February 16

Caregivers of Elderly Relatives support group meets every third Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Monroe County Public Library, Room 1A (300 E. Kirkwood, Bloomington). This is an opportunity for anyone who would like to share their experiences caring for an elderly relative. The group offers support and resource sharing in a confidential environment. A talk on Cardiac Heart Health Care will be held at the Endwright Center on February 18 at 1 p.m. Spokespersons from Bloomington Hospital Cardiac Rehab Center will be there to answer questions. For more information, call the center at 876-3383 ex. 515.

February 25

A Bingo for Baskets fund raiser to benefit Cloverdale Midle Schol will be held Friday, February 25. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Bingo starts at 6:00 p.m. Must be 18 to play. Call 765-795- 2900 for more information.

Harmonicas for Health will meet at the Endwright Center Friday, February 25 at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in improving their lung health is invited to attend. A free harmonica will be provided. For more information contact Sharol at 876- 3383 ext. 515.

February 26 A Zumba-thon wil be held Saturday, February 26 from 6-9 p.m. at the Owen Valley Middle School. Cost is $10 per person and all proceeds go to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Beginners are welcome. For more information, call 828-9622 or visit www.owencountyymca.org

March 28-April 1

Owen County Family YMCA wil hold Spring Break Day Camp from Monday, March 28 through Friday, April 1 for ages 5-12. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. with extended care available from 7-9 a.m. and from 4-6 p.m. For more information, call 828-9622 or visit www.owencountyymca.org.
