RSVP 55+ VOLUNTEER PROGRAM OF OWEN AND MONROE COUNTIES AND AREA 10 AGENCY ON AGING will host an old-fashioned People’s Potluck on Wednesday, November 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 at the Endwright Center, located at 631 West Edgewood Drive in Ellettsville. FREE BINGO AT THE SPENCER SENIOR CENTER on Wednesday, November 14, from 1-2 p.m. for individuals age 50 and older. McCormick’s Creek Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center will be providing the prizes and calling the Bingo. The Spencer Senior Center is located at 400 East Jefferson Street. THE GOSPORT METHODIST CHURCH WILL HOST ITS ANNUAL HARVEST AUCTION on Thursday, November 15, beginning at 6 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall, located at the corner of North and Seventh streets.

THE OWEN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL TALENT SHOW is Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. This event showcases the talented high school students in the community.

November 16

THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD WILL HOST ITS FINAL FALL LUNCHEON OF 2012 on Friday, November 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $6. This week’s sponsor is Spencer Monuments. Last week’s door prize winner was Leanna Barnett. The Art Guild will host a pie sale, just in time for the holidays, during this last fall luncheon as well.

THE MCCORMICK’S CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO will host a Santa Night on Friday, November 16 at MCES from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A fun family event, the night will include pictures with Santa, stories with Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, a holiday book walk and a Christmas craft. The cost is $5 for the first child and $3 for each additional child.

November 17

A DEMOLAY BREAKFAST of biscuits and gravy and potatoes will be held Saturday, November 17, from 7-11 a.m. at the Spencer Masonic Lodge, 361 North Harrison Street. Everyone is welcome. Free-will donations will be accepted.

ST. JOHN’S HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW will be held Saturday, November 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 4607 State Road 46W, Bloomington. Over 30 exhibitors from the surrounding counties will be on hand. All items are handcrafted! Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Baked goods, door prizes, raffles.

THE OWEN COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION will meet Saturday, November 17, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Spencer Christian Church, 157 South Montgomery Street. After a short business session, there will be a presentation by Stu Sherfick (W9HRZ) about amateur radio antennas, an important requirement for any amateur radio setup. A gathering for breakfast takes place at Chambers Smorgasboard beginning at about 8 a.m. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. TRI-KAPPA WILL HOST ITS ANNUAL RAG DOLL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR on Saturday, November 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Salad and Dessert Bar will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a cost of $6 per person.

THE LADIES AUXILIARY OF THE PATRICKSBURG COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT will host a fund-raising breakfast and luncheon on Saturday, November 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost will be $5 for either breakfast or lunch. The breakfast menu will include sausage gravy and biscuits, Mountain Man Breakfast, dessert and a drink. Lunch begins at 12 noon and will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, sides, dessert and a drink. All community members and deer hunters are welcome.

THE OWEN COUNTY TEA PARTY will meet Saturday, November 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the “In Gods Arms” building, located at 95 West Franklin Street in Spencer. The featured speaker will be Jim Bratten, Editorial Director of the Hoosier Patriots; Indiana State Coordinator, Tea Party Patriots; and Vanderburgh County Tea Party Patriots’ member. He will review the November 6th election and comment on the Tea Party’s involvement in any further events.

November 18

THE PLEASANT HILL COMMUNITY CHURCH is inviting the community to share in a Thanksgiving meal on Sunday November 18 @ 5:00 p.m. The Church building is located at 6261 Pleasant Hill Road.

SPENCER BAPTIST CHURCH WILL HOLD COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICES Sunday, November 18 at 6 p.m. at 110 N. Washington Street. Guest speaker will be Pastor Allen Lewis. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served after the service.

November 19

THE MONTHLY SPENCER SENIOR CENTER DINNER will be held Monday, November 19, beginning at 6 p.m. Please bring a covered dish to share and a $3 donation. Carson’s BBQ and Catering will be providing the main dish. Musical entertainment will be provided by the “Music Makers” Monroe County Extension Homemakers chorus at 7 p.m. Invite a new friend so they can visit the center and become a member!

THE OWEN COUNTY HISTORICAL & GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY (OCHGS) will hold its monthly educational program on Monday, November 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Owen County Public Library. Jeannie Regan-Dinius from the DNR Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology will give a presentation about cemeteries in Indiana. Regan-Dinius will discuss the state of cemeteries in Indiana, what is being done at various levels to protect and restore them, and what we can do to help. OCHGS programs are free and open to the public.

November 20

HI-HATTERS WILL MEET FOR LUNCH on Tuesday, November 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Freedom Diner. Bring a friend. Carpool behind Spencer Nazarene Church at 11 a.m.

INDIANA SOCIETY SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION will meet Tuesday, November 20, at the Stone Pig Downtown Smokehouse, southwest corner of the courthouse square in Bedford. Entrance will be off of 16th Street. INSSAR sign will be set out. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. Induction of new members and awards will be given out. Nomination of Chapter Officers for 2013 will be conducted by Chapter President Compatriot Terry L. English, JD. Nomination of Law Enforcement, Firefighter, EMT and Heroes will also be conducted.
