Club’s 2014 Garden Tour Includes Four Stops On Sunday, June 29th

A Japanese maple, holly bushes, iris, and daylilies hug the porch of this beautifully maintained historic home in Spencer. This homeowner and gardener has been helping her gardens evolve for 10 years. She started with landscaping help from Kevin Bazur, and has since been following his advice to “plug things in” as time and spirit allow. She now has a beautifully varied collection of both shade and sunny perennials, which are interestingly mixed with redbud trees, serviceberry, holly, and a backdrop of arbor vitae.

See this and three other gardens – rain or shine – during the Owen County Garden Tour from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 29. Tickets are $5 per person; children age six and under free. Get tickets and maps in advance at the Purdue Extension Office, located at 180 South Washington Street in Spencer. On the day of the event, get tickets at the courthouse square starting at 12:30 p.m., or follow yellow Garden Club signs to a garden and purchase tickets there. (Courtesy Photo)
