MAKING YOUR BABY’S FOOD AT HOME, Thursday, October 30, beginning at 1 p.m. at the New Beginnings Pregnancy Resource Center in Spencer. A basic presentation with hands-on demonstrations on how to prepare and puree fresh food for your baby using fruits, vegetables and lean meats.

OWEN COUNTY FAMILY YMCA BUS TRIP TO GASTHOF AMISH BUFFET & HOLIDAY CRAFT BAZAAR will be held Friday, October 31. Bus departs at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 2:15 p.m. Cost is $35/person (includes lunch, beverage, and gratuity). Advance registration required. 812-828- 9622. www.owencountyymca.org

November 1

THE FREEDOM COMMUNITY CENTER WILL HOST AN ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT PANCAKE BREAKFAST, Saturday, November 1, from 7-10 a.m. Free-will donations will be accepted.

THE OWEN COUNTY CHRISTIAN MEN’S FELLOWSHIP (OCCMF) will meet for their monthly Prayer Breakfast, Saturday, November 1, at the Gosport United Methodist Church. The OCCMF sponsors the Owen County Weekday Religious Education (WRE) program at all four S-OCS elementary schools. All Christian men are invited to attend – breakfast will be served at 8 a.m.

SWEET OWEN INDUSTRIES ARC WILL HOLD ITS ANNUAL BANQUET, Saturday November 1, at the Owen County Fairgrounds. The dinner will start at 6:30 and a live auction will start shortly after dinner is served. Proceeds from the live auction will be used to help fund persons in the local community that do not have access to waiver funding. Currently, Sweet Owen Arc is serving three persons in our local workshop and one residential client that do not have a steady funding stream. Without this service these persons with developmental/intellectual disabilities would not have the opportunity to be engaged in their local community or be able to give back to the community in which they live.

THE OWEN COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INVITES YOU TO ATTEND THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF JULIEBOBS at its new location, 5798 Main Street in Freedom, on Monday, November 3, beginning at 10 a.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:15 a.m.

CHS FALL SPORTS BANQUET, Tuesday, November 4, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Cloverdale High School cafetorium.

November 6

LUNCH AND LEARN SERIES, Thursday, November 6, from 1-2 p.m. at the Owen County Public Library. Hosted by Purdue Extension, participants are encouraged to bring a lunch or snack and listen to the following topic: Learn the process of Making Recipes Healthier for the Holidays so that you can bring a healthy dish for all to enjoy.

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP CRIME WATCH will meet Thursday, November 6, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Jefferson Baptist Church Coal City. Everyone is welcome to attend.

November 7

PATRICKSBURG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO will meet Friday, November 7, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at PES.

November 8

ST. JOHN’S THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH WOMEN’S CLUB WILL HOST ITS ANNUAL HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW, Saturday, November 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located at 4607 State Road 46, east of Ellettsville. Lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

November 9

THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD WILL HOLD AN ART AUCTION PREVIEW on Sunday, November 9, from 2-4 p.m. The Owen County Art Guild has recently received a collection of paintings by one of our first members, Marion Brighton. These paintings and many other items from the Guild artists will be on display on Sunday, November 9 for the public to view. Cash, checks and charge cards will be accepted. Take advantage of this opportunity and show your support of and appreciation for the Art Guild and the programs they offer.

November 10

EASTERN STAR CHAPTER 425 will hold its monthly stated meeting on Monday, November 10, at the Spencer Masonic Lodge #95, located on North Harrison Street. Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Dress is casual.

November 11

THE SPENCER AMERICAN LEGION AND AUXILIARY WILL HOST A VETERANS DAY DINNER, Tuesday, November 11, beginning at 5 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert.

November 12

THE OWEN COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS will hold its monthly board meeting Wednesday, November 12, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Viquesney Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Tivoli Theatre. Bring a brown bag lunch.

THE JOLLY HOMEMAKERS will meet Wednesday, November 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Freedom Community Center. Don’t forget to bring canned goods for the canned food drive. Also, Christmas cards for veterans.
