Art Auction Set For Saturday At Art Guild

The Owen County Art Guild’s upcoming Art Auction on Saturday, November 15 offers the opportunity to acquire artwork from artists who have called Owen County home. Everything from a wire scorpion created by 11-year-old James Brown to flowers captured in oils by Marion Brighton will be offered for sale. The catalog lists over 70 works of art created by past and current members of the Guild.

Many of the paintings were donated by the family of Marion Brighton. The family of M. R. Nichols also donated several paintings, including some lovely lake shore scenes. Current members with work in the auction include: Patsy Bryant, Annie Bright, James Brown, Bj Bennett, Ellen Cramer, Cindy Conklin, Dorothy Cumbo, Naomi Dickey, Grace Gonso, Ted Green, Pat Gregory, Leslie Nieves, Lisa Shelton, Terry Urban, and Pat Walters. Two signed prints by Ken Bucklew have also been donated to the auction. A complete catalog of items may be picked up at the Guild.

Saturday’s auction will begin at 2:00 p.m. Proceeds will be used as matching funds in the Guild’s $5,000 donation challenge.
