“I was proud of some of our individual efforts, however, I would have liked for us to have beaten Edgewood as a team since we were only one point away,” York said.

The Patriot boys’ team crowned one champion Saturday. Bryce Bault placed first in discus with a throw of 123-0. Other top finishes for OVMS included Bault in third place in shot put, and the 4x-800 relay team of Mason Kelley, Waylen Lewis, Robbie Martin and Ronnie Martin in fourth place.

“We had a good day in spite of the rain,” coach Warner said. “Bryce Bault was our only WIC champion and has been a bright spot for us all season. Several of our teams turned in their best times which is all you can ask somebody to do.”
