No Injuries Reported Following Tuesday Afternoon Collision On State Road 46W

No injuries were reported following a three-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on a rain-slicked State Road 46 West, west of Bob Babbs Drive in Spencer.

According to a report prepared by Owen County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) Captain Clint Wampler, all three vehicles had been traveling westbound shortly after 4:00 p.m. when the 2015 Toyota Corolla, driven by 19-year-old Bethany Olson of Spencer slowed for a turning vehicle and was struck from behind by a 2002 silver Nissan Maxima, operated by 38-year-old Lashawn Smith of Terre Haute. The initial impact resulted in Smith’s vehicle rolling backwards where it came into contact with a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Kori Bridgewater, 28, of Brazil.

Emergency units on the scene included the OCSD, Owen County EMS, Spencer Police Department, and the Owen Valley Volunteer Fire Department. (Staff Photo)
