Bud Bacon Bud Bacon Bud Bacon, loving husband, father, and grandfather joined his wife, Jeanette, in Heaven on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the age of 89.

Bud was born in Frankfort, Indiana on August 26, 1928. He married Jeanette (Cooley) Bacon in Cloverdale, Indiana on December 25, 1954 and they were happily married 61 years until her passing on June 24, 2016. Bud worked as a lineman on the Monon and L&N Railroads for over 37 years. He was known for his strength, being able to carry a railroad tie on his shoulder with no help and working through many tough days. He loved his job but Bud also had an unwavering love for his family and their needs, keeping him working no matter the obstacle. He was immensely proud of his kids and grandkids. Spending time with them meant the world to him. He served the Lord faithfully as a member of the Gosport Christian Church.

Bud leaves behind his daughters, Nancy Woodsmall and husband Gary, Mary Ann Bentley, and Tammy Bacon; grandchildren, Ryan White and his wife Karen, Matthew Bentley, and Kelsey Bentley and husband Jay; great-grandchildren, Kaden White, Kysen White, Lyden Hoversten, and Lydia Hoversten, all of Spencer; sisters-in-law, Kathy Smith, Jean Cooley, and Martha Kinser and brother-in-law, Tom Cooley. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Bacon, and wife Jeanette Bacon.

Visitation will be held at Chandler Funeral Home- Whitaker Chapel in Gosport on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Elder Tom Steirwalt will officiate.
