THE SECOND ANNUAL CHALK-IT-UP ART CONTEST, SPONSORED BY THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, will be held Saturday, June 23 on the Owen County Courthouse square from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. Free tshirts will be given to the first 50 artists. There is an entry fee of $5 and artists are to bring their own chalk. All proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund.
BLUE KNIGHTS IN XI & HARLEY- DAVIDSON OF BLOOMINGTON WILL HOST THE 10TH ANNUAL ‘THIN BLUE LINE’ POLICE ESCORTED CHARITY RIDE on Saturday, June 23. The ride will begin and end at Harley-Davidson of Bloomington. Sign-up begins at 9:30 a.m. and the ride leaves at 11:00 a.m. and will return at 2 p.m. A $25 per rider minimum donation is required. Dinner will be provided during the ride. The rain date for the event is June 24. Great gifts from Harley-Davidson and other sponsors as well as free t-shirts (while supplies last) will be on hand.
THE SWEET OWEN BASSMASTERS AND SPENCER EXCHANGE CLUB will again sponsor the Casting Kids contest to be held at the Owen County Fairgrounds in Spencer on Saturday, June 23. There is no entry fee and the competition is open to all children ages 7-10 and 11-14. All rods and reels will be provided and there will be instructors on site. Prizes will be awarded.
