Drivers Escape Possible Injury In Mid-Morning Mishap Friday

Three drivers and several passengers escaped possible personal injury Friday morning in a rear-end collision on State Road 46, a short distance east of State Road 43.

Local emergency personnel from the Owen County EMS, Spencer Police Department, Indiana State Police and Owen Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene shortly after 10:00 a.m.

According to information provided by ISP Trooper Ryan White, a Ford pickup truck traveling westbound had stopped to turn left into a private driveway. The pickup, driven by Terry Miron, 62, of Spencer, was unharmed and safely turned into the private drive. Meanwhile, a Dodge Caravan, operated by Keith Matlock, 68, of Nashville, Indiana, came to a stop as well and was struck in the rear by a Kia Spectra, driven by Harvey Bently, 60, of Gladstone, Oregon.

All three drivers and their passengers signed signatures of release with the Owen County EMS. (Staff Photos)
