(Courtesy Photos) Gosport has been seeing a lot of change in the past few years. Most recently, a grant was awarded by the Owen County Community Foundation to add lamp post banners. Gosport Business Association member John King played a big part in procuring the grant, allowing the group to purchase enough banners to rotate throughout the year. These banners include a Spring, Fall, and Lazy Days banner as well as a Town of Gosport design depicting a simplified illustration of some of the historic buildings in the area.

The banners were designed by GBA member, The Workshop Photography & Design.

The GBA has also been responsible for the town’s induction into Indiana’s Main Street program of which more than 90 communities participate. The program provides technical assistance, educational opportunities and affords better grant possibilities for communities involved.

The downtown renewal has been accompanied by new businesses opening their doors including the Gosport Feed Store Galleria,

Chicago’s Pizza, Nate’s Candy Jar and the Gosport Diner, which is under new ownership and will reopen soon. The GBA-sponsored Gosport Town-Wide Yard Sale and Holiday Festival have also made Gosport a place to visit.
