Patriots Remain Undefeated In WIC With 58-12 Win Over Wildcats; Casey Roberts Ties Record

Senior running backs Drew Bradley (shown above) and Larry Shaffer (pictured on the far right) combined for 284 yards rushing and six touchdowns to help lead Owen Valley to a 58-12 win Friday on the road at South Vermillion.

Shaffer and Bradley traded first quarter scoring runs of eight and three yards, respectively.

Second quarter action found Bradley scoring again, this time on a seven-yard run, while Shaffer reached the end zone twice and Caleb Arthur brought down the Wildcat quarterback for a two-point safety.

Leading 37-0 at the half, Arthur reeled in a 17-yard strike from quarterback Gunnar Ranard and Bradley added a six-yard scoring run to push the Patriot advantage to 51-0 by the end of the third quarter.

Evan Wood capped off the Patriot scoring with a one-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Along the way, junior Casey Roberts tied a school record for most extra points kicked in a game with eight.

OV (2-1, 2-0) travels this coming Friday, September 7, to rival Edgewood (0-3), victims of a 21-0 loss in week three at Greencastle (3-0). Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. (Staff Photos by Travis Curry)
