Owen Valley Downs Greencastle In Final Home Match Of 2012 Season

(Staff Photo) Following senior night activities, coach Matt Beckwith and his Owen Valley Patriot boys’ tennis team hosted their final match of the 2012 season on the Patriot courts Thursday evening, coming away with a 4-1 win over visiting Greencastle.

At number one singles, Kendal Norman once again kept his streak alive, winning 6-2, 6-0 over Landon Miller. Senior Corbin Worland defeated his opponent, Mike Waddell, soundly on senior night, 6-0, 6-1 while Noah Woodruff also came away with a solid win, 6-1, 6-3 over Jason Ummel.

Playing number one doubles, Hogan McHaley and Jonathan Carey won their match 6-4, 6-4 over Christian Ritchey and Adam Gerard. Despite a good effort, seniors Tyler Schenck and Jared Peterson fell to Alex Asbell and Kaleb Fleming, 3-6, 2-6.

Owen Valley will travel to West Vigo for their final regular season match today, Monday. The match is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
