Issue Hits Close To Home

Dear Editor,

It’s hard to see the “faces” of our candidates with all the mud being slung left and right. There is, however, one issue that hits so close to home, it’s something we desperately need to pay attention to: Obamacare.

Obamacare is killing Cook and Boston jobs. Cook states that, “the tax on medical devices, set to take effect next year, will cost the company roughly $20 million a year.”*

In addition to Boston and Cook, teachers’ jobs or hours may also be threatened. A newspaper article in the Warsaw (Indiana) Times-Union this week reports that the local school system is cutting back hours of its employees due to Obamacare:

“In working toward Obamacare by 2014, Hintz (Superintendent of Warsaw Community School system) said hourly employees can not have more than 30 hours a week. If the school corporation allows more than that, it could cost the school corporation $2 million to $3 million because of Obamacare, Hintz said.”

Will this happen in our county? Don’t be surprised!

The most disturbing aspect of Obamacare is a fact that, surprisingly, many people don’t realize: You must purchase health insurance for your family whether you want it or need it or not. If you do not, you will be penalized on your tax refund. That right – buy health insurance, or you will be forced to pay up to $4,700 a year from your tax refund when Obamacare comes fully into effect.**
