Patriot Football Spotlight

Drew Bradley Drew Bradley Eleventh-year head coach Duane Potts and the Owen Valley High School varsity football coaching staff have announced selections for the team’s “Hammer Award,” “Offensive Lineman of the Week” and “Renegade Player of the Week” covering OV’s sectional-opening and seasonending loss at home to Greenwood.

“Hammer Award” (hit of the week) honors went to senior Drew Bradley, a 6’1”, 210-pound running back and linebacker.

Junior Ethan Yates, a 5’9”, 175-pound offensive lineman and linebacker was selected as the team’s “Renegade Player of the Week.”

“Offensive Lineman of the Week” honors again went to senior Wesley Arthur, a 5’11”, 235-pound offensive and defensive lineman.

The “Renegade Player of the Week” recognizes a student-athlete who “best helped the team prepare for Friday night’s game,” while the “Hammer Award” doesn’t have to occur in a game situation; hits made during the team’s nightly practices are also considered.
