CMS Seventh And Eighth Graders Defeat Eminence

Cloverdale Middle School’s seventh grade boys’ basketball team opened the 2012-2013 season with a 29-18 win over Eminence.

Tyce Jackson led the way for the Clovers, finishing with eight points, 12 rebounds and six steals.

Nick Winders netted six points, Dominic Brooks five, Dylan Scott four, T.J. Hagymasi two and Jimmy Tate two.

“For the first game, I thought our boys played good defense,” noted coach Billy Boyette.

Also crediting his squad’s tenacity on the defensive end, coach Jerry Neese’s eighth grade boys’ basketball team also notched a season-opening win over the Eels, 50-36.

Cooper Neese led all scorers and nearly topped the opposition by himself, netting 32 points on the night. Ryan Heavener finished with eight points, Seth Rhaff four, Chad Steven four and Kolton Cooper two.

The Clovers will be back in action Monday, November 26 at home against the visiting Greencastle Tiger Cubs.
