OVMS Wrestlers Defeat Batchelor Middle School

The Owen Valley Middle School wrestling team recently picked up a record boosting win against Bloomington’s Batchelor Middle School by a score of 79-36.

The Patriots were led by pin fall victories from Devin Tussey at 120 pounds, 125-pound Eli Watson, Leroy Terrell at 130 pounds, 135-pound Levi Arnold, Kyle Shaffer at 165 pounds and 210-pound Jack Johnson. At 110 pounds, Austin Elliott defeated his opponent by decision, 13-5.

OV’s Devin Flick lost 9-5 at 85 pounds, while Alexis Flick was pinned at 90 pounds. Jake Summitt lost by pin at 115 pounds, while Michael Frank suffered a 10-6 defeat at 155 pounds and Zach Foster lost 5-0 at 180 pounds.

Receiving forfeits for Owen Valley were Ciera Broukal at 75 pounds, Devin Tussey at 80 pounds, Robbie Martin at 95 pounds, Logan Trimble at 140 pounds, Hezekiah Pleake at 225 pounds and Zach Foster at 285 pounds.

“We had a great night. Everyone showed up and wrestled well,” OVMS coach Stan Frank said. “We have faced illness and injury the whole season, but tonight everyone was healthy and it showed.”

OVMS was scheduled to wrestle at home against Greencastle on Wednesday evening.
