Owen SWCD Hosts 66th Annual Meeting

Brad Thurston, shown here with wife, Deb, and Steve Worland (left) of the SWCD’s Board of Supervisors, was honored as the SWCD’s 2012 Conservation Partner in Forestry. Thurston has worked closely with District Forester Ralph Unversaw to undertake tree stand improvement and removal of invasive species, all the while placing more than 800 acres of his land into Classified Forest and Wildland Habitat near Cataract. Additionally, Thurston has endowed Owen County’s first Legacy Forest.
