Food Pantry Issues Thanks

Dear Editor,

What does a county-wide 4-H contest yield using cans of food to make displays of all kinds? 3,200 cans of food donated to the Spencer United Methodist Food Pantry! The cans were from the members of the thirteen clubs of Owen County 4-H who participated in the contest. A wide variety of canned foods were used for the contest, from corn and green beans to beets and spinach.

Our shelves of canned foods were at a low point. What a blessing to receive all of this food. The residents of Owen County who come to the food pantry will be truly grateful for the donation.

We want to again thank Owen County Extension Agent Dave Schenck and the young people of Owen County who are members of this great organization. We are proud of your continued efforts in support of Owen County.

Bob Kelley,

on behalf of the volunteer staff of the

Spencer United Methodist Food Pantry
