OV Wrestlers Named To Herald-Times’ All-Area Wrestling Teams For 2012-13

William Newforth William Newforth The Bloomington Herald-Times recently announced its 2012-2013 All-Area wrestling first and second teams, and those earning honorable mention.

Owen Valley’s 145-pound junior William Newforth was the lone Patriot selected to the first team. Newforth finished with a record of 26-6, a sectional championship, runner-up honors at regional, and sixth place finish at semi-state.

Named to the all-area second team were OV seniors Larry Shaffer (170), Sean Huss (220) and JR Robertson (285).

Shaffer, who ended his season with a record of 32-4, was a sectional champion, finished runnerup at regional, and placed sixth at semi-state.

Huss, who compiled a 21-12 record, finished sixth in the sectional, while Robertson tallied a 24-10 record on the year, finishing third in sectional competition and sixth at regional.

The Patriots’ 106-pound sophomore Isaac Miller (21-12) and 160-pound junior Ethan Yates (26- 10) each earned honorable mention from the H-T.
