Town Of Spencer Awarded Grant To Develop Park Plan

Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann has awarded a $15,000 planning grant to the Town of Spencer for a comprehensive master park plan through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA).

“Planning grants are an important first step as communities consider the best way to attract new businesses,” Ellspermann said. “By seeking to improve community amenities the Town of Spencer is on the path to economic growth.”

The planning grant for the Town of Spencer will be used to establish guidelines and policies to help with the growth and development of community facilities.

The funding comes from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which has proven to be an effective tool for community-based planning and research initiatives. The CDBG program is administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
