Spencer Woman Seriously Injured In Saturday Accident On U.S. 231N

A Spencer woman was airlifted to an Indianapolis area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 231 North just before ten o’clock Saturday morning. Emergency personnel from the Owen County EMS, Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Owen County Rescue Team responded to the scene in front of a residence at 8020 U.S. 231 North where a silver Dodge Dakota pickup truck had collided head-on into a tree.

According to information provided by Owen County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Ed Westgate, the pickup truck, driven by 27-year-old Jenny Rogers, had been southbound when it exited the east side of the highway for an unknown reason. The truck traveled approximately 50 yards before striking a tree head-on. Rogers was extricated from the vehicle by Cloverdale Township VFD first responders and transported by an EMS unit to Putnam County Hospital where she was met and transported by STAT Flight to an Indianapolis area hospital for treatment of blunt force trauma to the chest and facial injuries.
