Howling For Home
In her fictional account, “Howling for Home,” author Joan Carris tries to create a story that an actual dog would tell, if only he could. She says, “Every minute that I worked on this book, I was a dog. Granted I was a dog who could type, but I examined every word, every idea from a dog’s point of view.” Carris also promotes taking proper care of pets. Her story reminds dog owners to consider the needs of their companion animals and, specifically, their animals’ need for work, exercise and training. People can speak for themselves, right? So, she wants readers to imagine life-changing experiences from the perspective of a dog she admires, a Bernese puppy named Beau.
