This week the Spotlight shines on Mrs. Lisa Ranard’s seventh grade Language Arts classroom. Her students were given the following writing prompt: Write about someone who inspires you. You may choose someone you know personally or someone that you’ve never met before.

Inspirations come in all different shapes and sizes. Everybody has someone they can look up to and admire. These special people are near and dear to our hearts, even if we don’t know them personally. Our inspirations give us hope and make us happy when we are sad. My inspiration does exactly that. She is a young woman by the name of Emma Blackery.
Emma Blackery makes You- Tube videos online for her subscribers, and anybody else who happens to stumble upon her videos. Her videos make me laugh and always put a large smile on my face. Aside from her funny skits and jokes, Emma has a series of videos called “Feel Good 101” which talk about being comfortable with yourself and not caring what people think of you. She also delves into some of her younger years when she struggled with depression and had no friends in school. She’s very empowering and wonderful!
Emma, along with making videos, writes and records her own music. She has an EP out featuring four of her songs. In my opinion, I think her songs are amazing and her voice is extremely beautiful. Her music is just as inspiring as the person who wrote it.
There are many more reasons why Emma Blackery is one of my inspirations, but these are just a couple. Overall, she is an amazing and beautiful person who has the wonderful ability to make me happy with both her personality and her music.

A person can get inspiration from many things such as nature, celebrities, family members, and friends. In my case, a lot of my inspiration comes from my seventeen year-old cousin, Natalie.
Natalie is my first cousin on my mom’s side of the family. She attends Cloverdale High School and plans to be a veterinarian one day. She loves horses and dogs, so she shows them in 4-H. She also shows her horse, Lucky, at Bainbridge Saddle Club and the Indiana State Fair.
Natalie inspires me by her independence and self-confidence. She has her driver’s license and can haul the horse trailer by herself.
She also has many awards from showing her animals. Natalie has a job and her own vehicle, too. Another thing that inspires me about her is she pushes me to try my best at the things I do.
Natalie is a wonderful and inspiring cousin who does great in all that she participates in. She is a good student and has her driver’s license. She has a good paying job and plans to be a veterinarian. I love my cousin very much and am greatly inspired by her!
