Owen County Health Department Food Inspections

The following results originated from inspections of local food establishments conducted by the Owen County Health Department in September of 2013.

Indiana Code 410 IAC7-24 defines a critical violation – a provision of this rule if in noncompliance – is more likely than other violations to significantly contribute to food contamination, illness or environmental health hazard:

•Walmart – one critical and one repeat violation; 9-12-13.

*C – Outdated food items; a total of 36 items out of date.

•Gosport Tavern – Two critical and two non-critical violations; 9-12-13.

*C – Raw meat stored above ready to eat food.

*C – Outdated food.

*NC – Boxes on floor in storage room.

*NC - General cleaning needed.

•Owen County Security Center – No violations; 9-12-13.

•Casey’s General Store, Spencer – One non-critical violation; 9-12-13.

*NC – Mop left in mop water.
