Minor Injuries Sustained In Sunday Morning Accident On U.S. 231 North

A Washington, Indiana man and one of his young daughters complained of pain caused by seat belt restraints following a rear-end collision on U.S. 231 North, approximately three miles north of Spencer late Sunday morning.

Emergency personnel from the Owen County EMS and Rescue Team, Owen County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), and the Owen Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene just after 11:00 a.m. where traffic had stalled for a car turning onto the drive leading to Hilltop Restaurant.

According to information provided by OCSD Deputy John Lowder II, a late model Dodge Caravan, driven by 37-year-old Darren Hage had been northbound on U.S. 231 when the vehicle rearended a trailer being pulled by a GMC Sierra pickup truck, operated by Travis Barrickman, 43, of Noblesville.

According to Deputy Lowder, Hage and his daughter, one of four passengers in the vehicle, were transported by an EMS unit to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. (Staff Photos)
