Judge Quillen To Be Guest Speaker For 2014 OCHCC Business Meeting
The annual business meeting for the Owen County Heritage and Culture Center (OCHCC) will take place Sunday, January 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Carnegie building, located at 110 East Market Street in downtown Spencer.
The meeting will open with live entertainment by the Owen County S.O.U.N.D.S. violin program, followed by an overview of the 2013 year, which will be presented as an introduction to the activities of the center.
Serving as the day’s guest speaker will be Judge Lori Thatcher Quillen, who recently completed her first term as the county’s firstever female judge. Judge Quillen is a lifelong resident of Owen County, a wife and mother. She has served well during her 23-year law career which began at Petri, Fuhs and Thatcher in 1989 and continued in many areas up to her election as the current Owen County Circuit Court Judge.
Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
The OCHCC currently operating the Heritage Museum, the Carnegie Coffee Shoppe and a Gift Shop which features products made strictly by Owen County artisans. The current hours of operation for the OCHCC are Tuesday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Visitors may also make an appointment to visit the OCHCC at other times by calling 829-2738 for special tours.
