SEWING CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS AT THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., taught by Rebecca Schrock.

THE CHRISTMAS AT THE SQUARE/CHRISTMAS PARADE COMMITTEE will meet Tuesday, January 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Room, located on the second floor of the Owen County Courthouse. Anyone who has an opinion on the recent event, needed improvements, or ideas for years to come should plan to attend this meeting.

THE SPENCER AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY will meet Tuesday, January 28, at 7 p.m. at the post.

WACKY WEDNESDAY AT THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, 12 noon to 3 p.m. Bring your current art/craft project and join other creative people for a few hours of camaraderie.

PARTNERS IN PAINTING MEETS AT THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Artists at all levels are invited to come to the Guild to paint.

THE OWEN COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY PRECINCT COMMITTEE will meet Wednesday, January 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Owen County Republican Party Headquarters, located on East Franklin Street in Spencer. This meeting is open to the public.

COOKING FOR ONE: DELICIOUS INDIVIDUAL-SIZED PIZZAS, Thursday, January 30, from 1-2 p.m. at the Endwright Center Kitchen, 631 West Edgewood Drive in Ellettsville. Portia Egan will show you how to make quick, easy and nutritious individual-sized pizzas. Cooking for One classes promote healthy nutrition and are free to participants, though donations are gratefully accept to cover the cost of ingredients and to support Area 10’s Nutrition Program. THE MCCORMICK’S CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO will meet Thursday, January 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s multipurpose room. Principal Linda Epeards will be sharing information about the school’s Title I program, ISTEP+ scores, the letter grade of “A” assigned by the Indiana Department of Education, and details about the scoring system. Other topics to be discussed include the upcoming Math & Science Night, officer opportunities for parents, and an “Ideas Committee” to determine future uses of PTO funds. Snacks will be served.

CHAOS GROUP MEETS WITH BJ BENNETT at the Owen County Art Guild, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WRITERS’ GROUP MEETS AT THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.. This group of folks encourage each other to create with words.
