“KEEP YOUR CASH! CLAIM YOUR CREDIT!” OUTREACH EVENT, Friday, January 31, from 3-5 p.m. at Babbs SuperValu in Spencer. This event is part of a national effort to raise awareness of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and local free tax assistance. EITC is a refundable federal income tax credit that can put up to $6,044 back into the pockets of working individuals and families. In addition to explaining the benefits of EITC, community partners will discuss the Free Community Tax Service and distribute free brochures and giveaways.
THE OWEN COUNTY CHRISTIAN MEN’S FELLOWSHIP (OCCMF) will meet for their monthly Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, February 1st, at the Spencer Christian Church. The OCCMF sponsors the Owen County Weekday Religious Education (WRE) program at all four S-OCS elementary schools. All Christian men are invited to attend – breakfast will be served at 8:00 a.m.
BOY SCOUT TROOP #284 will host an Eagle Ceremony for Jared Haulk on Sunday, February 2, beginning at 2 p.m. at the In God’s Arms building in Spencer. This event also will be Brett Levy’s last event with Troop #284 and the troop wishes to honor him for his many years of dedication. This event is open to the public.
THE SOUTH CENTRAL COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM BOARD OF DIRECTORS will meet Monday, February 3, beginning at 6 p.m. at the CAP Office, located at 1500 West 15th Street in Bloomington.
