Assistance Appreciated

Dear Editor,

On Sunday (February 2), on my way back from Indianapolis, I encountered an abandoned car parked sideways on Rattlesnake Road. I had my granddaughter with me and was concerned about how to get her home. We could not backup or go forward, so I decided to try to go around the car. We got stuck in snow and mud up to my fender. My daughter and a friend of hers came down to try, unsuccessfully, to dig the car out of the ditch. Finally, two men stopped and tried, without luck, to pull my car out. Since they were unable to, they called a friend and he came over and was able to pull it out using a chain. When I asked what I could do to repay them, they said, “Just say thank you.” I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped and, once again, express my appreciation to the fine people of Spencer.
