February 13

OWEN COUNTY LOCAL COORDINATING COUNCIL FOR A DRUG-FREE INDIANA will meet Thursday, February 13, beginning at 4:15 p.m. in the Spencer Municipal Building, located at 90 North West Street. A short agenda will be followed by an executive committee meeting to approve grants. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

THE GOSPORT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION will meet Thursday, February 13, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Chicago’s Pizza in Gosport.

SIGNS OF THE TIMES, ACCORDING TO THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS. Are world events shaping a one world government? Is Bible prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes? The beast, the Antichrist, WWIII, The Rapture? Are you ready? Come and see. Every Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Spencer Burger King.

February 15

THE OWEN COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION WILL PLAY HOST TO THE SEASON’S SECOND AND LIKELY FINAL “LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST” on Saturday, February 15. The meeting will be conducted in the lower level meeting room of the Owen County State Bank located on West Morgan Street in Spencer beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending promptly at 9:00 a.m. Donuts and coffee will be provided. All Indiana senators and congressional representatives representing any portion of Owen County have been invited to attend.

THE OWEN COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION will meet Saturday, February 15, at 9 a.m. in the Spencer Christian Church, located at 158 South Montgomery Street. After a short business meeting, Cameron Denny will speak about using Facebook. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. Many of the members meet prior to the club meeting at Chambers Restaurant for breakfast, beginning at approximately 8 a.m.

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL SIGNUPS WILL BE HELD AT THE OWEN VALLEY SPORTS COMPLEX on Saturdays, February 15, 22 and March 1 and on Tuesdays, February 18 and 25th from 6-8 p.m.

February 16

WHITAKER BAPTIST CHURCH WILL HOLD THEIR MONTHLY GOSPEL SING on Sunday, February 16 at 6:00 p.m. The church is located at 3490 S. Lingle Road, Paragon.

February 17

THE COAL CITY FESTIVAL COMMITTEE will meet Monday, February 17, beginning at 5 p.m. at Jefferson Baptist Church in Coal City.

THE SENIOR DINNER will be held Monday, February 17, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Spencer Senior Center. Host will be Owen Valley Health Campus. Entertainment will be provided by Don Maners and the Country Dreamers. Bring a covered dish and a $3 donation.

February 18

HI-HATTERS will meet Tuesday, February 18, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Canyon Inn inside McCormick’s Creek State Park. Visitors are always welcome.

February 19

WEATHER PERMITTING, THE SEWING GROUP will meet Wednesday, February 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Purdue Extension Office, located at 180 South Washington Street in Spencer. Anyone is welcome.

February 21

ANNUAL FARM BUREAU FOOD CHECK OUT DAY, Friday, February 21, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Babbs SuperValu.

February 22

MCCORMICK’S CREEK REHABILITATION AND SKILLED NURSING CENTER WILL HOST A CHILI COOK OFF AND EUCHRE TOURNAMENT on Saturday, February 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the main dining room at 210 State Road 43 South. If you are interested in entering your favorite chili recipe into the contest or have questions, contact Cathy or Lindsay at 829- 3444. All are invited to this community event. It is free to play. Single person teams and prizes for the winner of the tournament and chili cook off contest!

February 25

THE SPENCER AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY will meet Tuesday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the Post.

March 6

NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME WATCH MEETING, Thursday, March 6, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Jefferson Baptist Church in Coal City.

March 11

WHITE RIVER BEEKEEPERS will meet Tuesday, March 11, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Owen County Fairgrounds. Anyone with an interest in beekeeping is welcome to attend.
