Owen Valley And Brown County To Tip-Off Tonight In Sectional-Opener

Postseason play begins tonight, Tuesday, for Owen Valley in the Class 3A boys’ basketball Sectional 28 at host Northview High School. The Patriots (14-8) will tip-off against Brown County (3-14) at 7:00 p.m. The Patriots enter the contest having won six straight and eight of the team’s last nine regular season games, while the Eagles are riding a three-game losing streak after an overtime senior night loss to Edinburgh last Thursday.

OV notched a 49-42 win at home over the Eagles back on January 17th, led by junior center Ethan Daffron with 15 points, nine points from senior guard Nolan King and eight from Matt Mahoney. Daffron will be in the lineup tonight, but the game will be only his second since sitting out three straight due to a nagging knee injury. The Patriots will undoubtedly look to reduce the number of turnovers (18) they committed in their earlier meeting with the Eagles. OV is currently led in scoring by King with 10.6 points per game, followed by Evan Wood with 10.4 ppg and Cameron King with 9.6 ppg.
