Patriots Take Third Shot At West Vigo In Sectional Semis Tonight

Owen Valley will look to earn its way into a fourth-consecutive Class 3A Sectional 28 Championship game tonight, Friday, at 7:30 when the Patriots take on West Vigo in the second semi-final contest at host site Northview High School.

OV (15-8) is currently riding a seven-game winning streak coming into the game against a 6-14 West Vigo squad that suffered a pair of December losses to the Patriots.

The Vikings’ most recent outing resulted in a 71-42 loss to Linton-Stockton and the Patriots are favored to win by a score of 56-45, according to Hoosier High School Hoops online authority John Harrell. OV is 16-10 against the Vikings in the last 20 seasons.

The Patriots are being led in scoring by senior Nolan King and junior Evan Wood in the backcourt, each averaging 10 points per game, followed by Cam King with a nightly average of 9.8 points per game and Ethan Sparks at 6.8 points per game. Starting center Ethan Daffron is averaging just under six points per game and tonight will be just his second game back from injury.
