EASTERN STAR CHAPTER 425 WILL HOLD A STATED MEETING Monday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. at 351 North Harrison Street at the Masonic Lodge. Officers are to provide snacks. Social hour to begin at 6:30 p.m. Casual dress.

SEWING CLASS AT THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, Tuesday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Anyone who wants to learn to sew or improve their skills can attend this free sewing classes. Bring your own machine, if you can. Call 829-1877 for more information.

PEOPLE OVER PARKINSON’S meets at McCormick’s Creek Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center on Tuesday, March 11, beginning at 4 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet with the center’s therapy specialists to discuss topics most important to you and your loved ones. WINTER ATHLETICS BANQUET, CLOVERDALE HIGH SCHOOL, Tuesday, March 11, beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school cafetorium.

WHITE RIVER BEEKEEPERS will meet Tuesday, March 11, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Owen County Fairgrounds. Anyone with an interest in beekeeping is welcome to attend.

THE SPENCER AMERICAN LEGION AND AUXILIARY will meet Tuesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the post.

PARTNERS IN ART: ADULT PAINTING SESSION, Wednesday, March 12, from 3-9 p.m. at the Owen County Art Guild. Beginners and experts invited to attend. Stay a few hours or the entire time. No charge.

WESTERN INDIANA CONFERENCE AWARDS BANQUET, for coaches and All-Conference student athletes, takes place Wednesday, March 12, beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Owen Valley High School Auditorium.

OWEN COUNTY LOCAL COORDINATING COUNCIL FOR A DRUG-FREE INDIANA will meet Thursday, March 13, beginning at 4:15 p.m. in the Spencer Municipal Building, located at 90 North West Street. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

THE ALPHA DELTA CHAPTER OF TRI KAPPA will host its annual Longaberger® Basket Bingo event on Thursday, March 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Owen Valley Middle School. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m., with the cost of admission set at $10 and limited to those 18 years of age and older. Each $10 ticket covers twenty games. WRITERS’ GROUP AT THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, Friday, March 14, from 2-4 p.m. Writers share their work and support each other.

MCCORMICK’S CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WILL HOST ITS ANNUAL MATH & SCIENCE NIGHT on Friday, March 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Don’t miss out on demonstrations from Cook Aviation, Hoosier Energy, the IU Math Department, Our Community Bank, the Society of Women Engineers, Mrs. Linda Barrett, Owen County EMS, Purdue Extension, REMC, Bean Blossom- Patricksburg Water Corporation, Owen County Soil & Water Conservation District, the Society of Plastics Engineers, and Peoples State Bank. This year’s event will also welcome Babbs SuperValu and the Owen County Amateur Radio Club! This is a free event.

OWEN COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION will meet Saturday, March 15, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Spencer Christian Church, located at 158 South Montgomery Street. After a short business meeting, David Keith will give a presentation on search and rescue methods of street identification, structure identification and hazard markings in disaster locations. CHAOS AT THE OWEN COUNTY ART GUILD, Saturday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Art opportunities for school age children.

THE GOSPORT BAPTIST CHURCH WILL HOST A CHILI SUPPER AND GOSPEL SING, Saturday, March 15. Supper begins at 5 p.m.; singing at 6 p.m. Special guest will be southern gospel group Whiteland Aires. Everyone is welcome to join in for a night of food and fellowship.

MYSTERY LUNCH, HOSTED BY THE SPENCER PRESBYTERIAN YOUTH GROUP, Sunday, March 16, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the In God’s Arms building in Spencer. A three-course meal will be served: appetizer – chips, salsa & queso; main entree – taco bar with chicken and beef; drinks and a dessert. During your dining experience, each person will portray a character in the story at their table while trying to figure out who the culprit is. So bring your friends and join in a fun lunch that will support the youth’s group’s mission trip this summer. Cost is $6 per person. For more information, call Pat Day 812- 821-2433.

OPEN DOOR CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP will host a special service on Sunday evening, March 16, at 6:30. The church will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pastor Denise Shaw’s call to Christian service and she will be sharing her very powerful personal testimony. THE SENIOR DINNER WILL BE HELD Monday, March 17. The host will be McCormick’s Creek Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. Bring a covered dish and a $3 donation. Entertainment will be Don Maners and the Country Dreamers. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m.

OWEN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL WILL HOST ITS ANNUAL WINTER SPORTS AWARDS BANQUET on Monday, March 17, beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
