Regional Farm Bill Meetings Slated For March 27 And 28

Indiana Farm Bureau is sponsoring three regional meetings on March 27 and 28 to help farmers and others understand the new farm bill.

“Understanding the Farm Bill: What to Expect in the Agricultural Act of 2014” will provide farmers and other agricultural stakeholders with updates on the Agricultural Act of 2014 (more informally known as the farm bill) with special focus on the commodity, livestock, and crop insurance programs. Meeting times and locations are:

•North region – March 27, 9-11 a.m., Fulton County Fairgrounds Community Center, 1009 West 3rd Street in Rochester.

•Central region – March 27, 2-4 p.m., The Glass Barn, Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 East 38th Street in Indianapolis.

•South region – March 28, 9-11 a.m., Lawrence County Fairgrounds Expo Hall, 11265 U.S. 50 West in Bedford.

John Anderson, deputy chief economist at the American Farm Bureau Federation, and Matt Erickson, economist at the American Farm Bureau Federation, will be the guest speakers.
